![]() Clutch is new and easy to operate with out a high pedal effort and the original Hurst shifter has been rebuilt and is tight as new. It is not loud at all on the freeway and you can talk with your passengers with ease or talk on your phone, and has an authoritative bark when you romp the throttle!! Transmission is the original 4 speed wide ratio toploader that is tight as new with no noise and has the original tag on it and partial VIN stamped. Engine absolutely runs as well as it sounds through its 2.5" exhaust with stainless steel Magnaflow mufflers. Car never gets hot even in 100+ degree desert heat. It was built to make tons of power and torque down low in the RPM's for consistent, reliable use and for cross country events such as the Hot Rod Power Tour. Engine is conservatively rated at 425 HP and 450ft lbs of torque with plenty of bottom end grunt. Engine is the original numbers matching, born with M code 351C 4V block ( partial VIN is visible on the block) and original 4V heads freshly built in 2015 (less than 3K miles since) balanced and blueprinted with with hardened valve seats for unleaded fuel, port matched Edelbrock Streetmaster aluminum intake manifold with aDemon 650 CFM carburetor with electric choke, MSD electronic ignition with new plugs and plug wires, and ceramic coated Hooker headers, new oil pan, a nice rum-pity rump solid lifter camshaft. Frame rails are perfect too unlike most others you will find. It has obviously been driven on nice days only as evident by the completely rust free underside that shows its original beautiful floorpans, red oxide primer, factory undercoating and pinch weld over-spray, original Grabber Green areas, etc. It spent most of his life in the garage and was driven on weekends. Car was then sent to a Ford auction where it was purchased by a gentleman in Texas who kept the car and drove it sparingly over the next 42 years. Philco made all the original radios in most Ford Lincoln and Mercury products from the early 60's through late 70's including the original working AM/FM in this car!! He kept the car for the 1 year lease period that Ford executives would get. Page who was President of Philco Electronics that was owned by Ford Motor Company up through the late 70's. Really amazing mostly un-restored vehicle with lots of factory options! Never in an accident with no bumpers or trim ever removed that I can tell. These will be the next muscle cars bringing $100K+ soon, especially a survivor like this one!! Better investment than the stock market and unlike a stock, you can drive and enjoy it!.
